Yoga for Everybody

Zoe Shipley

Zoe discovered yoga in the late 90’s at Jivamutki Yoga Center in New York City. She appreciates the discipline of the Ashtanga method as much as the flow and acceptance of Vinyasa. She is a certified RYT 200 hours Vinyasa instructor. She is trained in Restorative Yoga, through the lineage of Judith Lasater in the Kripalu School. Zoe is also a certified GroovyKids™ Yoga instructor and trained as a Mindfulness Educator; she has her own business teaching mindfulness in New Orleans public schools. She is passionate about helping to better the lives of New Orleans youth in whatever way she can, and wholeheartedly believes that mindfulness and yoga can lend to a happier, healthier life for all.

Zoe Shipley instructs the following:
  • Vinyasa Flow
  • Traditional Vinyasa Flow class for all levels. The pace is moderate and will challenge you physically with an emphasis on alignment and proper form.

  • Restorative Yoga
  • Calm the mind and body with this Restorative Yoga class. Dedicate this hour to yourself. Restorative Yoga poses require no muscular exertion; each pose is held for several minutes and is deeply supported by bolsters, blankets and blocks. Complete muscular relaxation and comfort are emphasized to achieve a quiet state of mind and body. Deep restorative work improves range of motion and joint mobility, while reducing pain and the physical effects of stress on our bodies. Students will leave feeling nourished, rested and refreshed. Guided Mindfulness Meditation is also incorporated throughout the class. No yoga or meditation experience is needed and all levels are welcome. All yoga mats props will be provided by the studio, although students are welcome to bring their own mats and eye pillows.

  • New Year's Restorative Class
  • Finish out 2018 with some Restorative Yoga with Zoe.  You will feel rested and renewed and ready to face the New Year.
